By downloading, installing, or using BFF (Be Financially Free) ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of service
BFF is a personal finance and budgeting application that helps users:
- Track income and expenses
- Create and manage budgets
- Set and monitor savings goals
- Categorize transactions
- Share budgets with family members or friends
- Scan receipts for easy expense entry
- Sync data across devices
3. User accounts
3.1 Account types
- Anonymous accounts: you may use the app without creating an account. Data is stored locally on your device.
- Registered accounts: creating an account enables cloud sync, data backup, and sharing features.
3.2 Account responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for all activities under your account.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
3.3 Account deletion
- You may delete your account at any time through the app settings.
- Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our servers.
- Locally stored data on your device must be removed by uninstalling the app.
4. User conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any illegal purpose
- Share false or misleading financial information
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the app's functionality
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Use the app to harass, abuse, or harm others
- Share your account credentials with others
5. User data and content
5.1 Your data
- You retain ownership of all financial data you enter into the app.
- You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data to provide the Service.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter.
5.2 Shared budgets
- When you share a budget with another user, they can view the data you've chosen to share.
- You can revoke sharing permissions at any time.
- You are responsible for what you share with others.
6. Subscription services
6.1 Free tier
The app offers a free tier with core budgeting features.
6.2 Premium subscriptions (BFF Pro)
- Premium features are available through auto-renewable subscription plans (monthly and annual).
- Subscription prices are displayed in the app before purchase and may vary by region.
- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account (iOS) or Google Play account (Android) at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the cost of the chosen plan.
- You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your Account Settings on the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) after purchase.
6.3 Free trials
- If a free trial is offered, it will be indicated at the time of purchase.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Free trial eligibility is determined by Apple or Google and may be limited to one trial per account.
6.4 Refunds
- All payments are processed by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android). Refund requests must be directed to the respective store per their refund policy.
- We do not have the ability to process refunds directly.
6.5 Price changes
- Subscription prices may change. You will be notified of any price changes in advance per Apple's or Google's policies. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
7. Intellectual property
7.1 Our property
- The app, including its design, features, and content, is owned by BFF.
- Our trademarks, logos, and branding may not be used without permission.
7.2 Feedback
Any feedback or suggestions you provide may be used by us without obligation to you.
8. Disclaimers
8.1 Financial advice
- BFF is a budgeting tool, not a financial advisor.
- The app does not provide investment, tax, or legal advice.
- You should consult qualified professionals for financial decisions.
8.2 Data accuracy
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of calculations or data.
- You are responsible for verifying your financial information.
- Receipt scanning uses AI and may contain errors.
8.3 Service availability
- We strive for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.
- Features may change, be updated, or be discontinued.
- We are not liable for any data loss due to service interruptions.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- BFF is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app (if any) in the past 12 months.
- We are not responsible for financial decisions you make based on app data.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BFF from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the app
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
11. Changes to terms
- We may update these Terms at any time.
- Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
- We will notify users of significant changes through the app.
12. Termination
- We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms.
- You may stop using the app at any time.
- Sections regarding liability, indemnification, and disputes survive termination.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the app shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
